Sket is proudly made in Egypt. But our inspiration isn’t Egypt as a postcard. It’s the Egypt we know and live in every day.
The faded colors of old buildings and the lively new spots opening next door.
The warm glow of a Cairo sunset and the flashing lights of a night out.
Balconies overflowing with plants and sleek glass ones overlooking the city.
Modern summer houses in Marassi and the heritage-inspired homes of Gouna.
The familiar warmth of Grandma’s living room, and her grand daughter’s pink renovated room.
Old and new. Calm and colorful. Nostalgic and constantly changing.
Those unexpected combinations are everywhere once you start looking.

Our Philosophy.
Nature is what exists before us: the leaf, the stone, the branch, the earth, the air. It carries its own character, shaped by time.
Nature open up for us not to conquer it. Not to make it perfect. And not to strip it of what made it beautiful in the first place. But to twist it, shape it, and give it another life while allowing its essence to remain.
We do not believe in making things because they are supposed to look a certain way. We believe in making them because something within us, as natural as nature itself, has blossomed and asks to be expressed.
Art begins when the human hand meets it.
There is something powerful in the mark of a human hand. The slight irregularity. The unexpected shape. The decision that could have been made differently, but wasn’t. These are not imperfections to correct. They are traces of character.
We believe making should add to the world, not take from it.
We believe in creating beauty without stripping materials of their essence or leaving unnecessary waste behind. Every choice should give something back to the world, rather than taking more than it needs.
We follow curiosity rather than rules, instinct rather than imitation. We take inspiration from nature, but we do not copy it. We work with it, around it, leaving enough of ourselves behind to make something that could only have come from our hands.

Because a home shouldn’t look like everyone else’s. It should look like you. And if the things you bring into it carry a little bit of the people, places and stories behind them, even better.

We don’t think of a lampshade as something that simply covers a bulb.
It’s a canvas. A place for color, texture, pattern and a little bit of personality. We play with threads, fabrics, shapes and handmade details to create pieces that change the way a room feels when the light comes on.
Every piece starts with an idea.
Sometimes it’s a color. Sometimes it’s a shape.
Sometimes it’s a memory that we can’t stop thinking about.

We believe in the beauty of things made by hand. Each piece is shaped, twisted, and finished with care, allowing the material to guide the process while leaving room for the maker’s own character and expression. The result is something made with intention, where no two pieces are ever quite the same.
